As part of their Master Plan in 2007, St Peter’s College embarked on a restoration project to radically transform the adhoc collection of rundown buildings into a “state of the art” comprehensive new junior school.
This significant project incorporated an array of historical structures including a 100 year old, two-storey brick heritage listed cottages, 1950s two-storey building, and 1970s single storey complex.
Incorporated into the modernized layout were a series of new classrooms, staff office and administration spaces, a library and resource centre, science laboratories and a function / catering facility. Each of these components was meticulously factored into functional spaces that provide students with transitional connections between associated service divisions.
The project won Best Heritage Development, City of Norwood, Payneham & St Peters Urban Design Awards for the Architect.
